Let’s chat about the Third Chakra – Manipura
This one is one of my personal favorite energy channels because it’s about our inner fire of life and transformation, our gut intuition, confidence, self-esteem, action, vitality and our will. For many years I’ve struggled with my self-esteem and confidence and lack of trust with my own gut intuition. I will say that this isn’t easy work. I’ve been practicing yoga for years and this is still the work I am doing to this day. To learn to accept myself just as I am and to trust my gut to take action and get things done without fear of the unknown.
The Third Chakra Its about Digestion!
The Manipura Chakra is also linked to our digestive health, our ego and our emotions. And because it’s linked to our emotions it reacts to our thoughts concerning worry, anxiety and fear. So, take a sec to think about how emotions make your gut feel. Some of us get an upset stomach or feel sick, nauseous. When we feel fear, the emotions and feelings of it arise from our gut.
Sanskrit Name: Manipura (the jewel of the naval)
Element: Fire
Color: Yellow
Mantra: Ram
Body Associations: Digestive system, liver, muscles.
When this energy center is out of balance you may experience greed and may develop a need to hoard things, you may have an attitude of “what’s in it for me” lack of self confidence, fear might be holding you back. The result, some of us will tend to become workaholics, judgmental and even resentful of authority.
In its balance, we feel balanced and energized. Our self-esteem increases without being egotistical. You experience self-respect and respect others. We are outgoing, cheerful, relaxed and even spontaneous. We enjoy physical activity and we look and yearn for good food to nourish us.
How can we balance our Manipura Chakra?
*Go outside and enjoy the sunshine
*Listen to music that makes want to move
*Eat good food that you know your body appreciates and can digest with ease.
*Practice the breath of fire when you first wake up If you are a beginner please make sure to have proper instruction on this breathing technique
*Exercise and build heat from the inside out
